Thirayuth Chirathivat, Chief Executive Officer of Centara Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Andre Brulhart as General Manager of Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok, effective from now.
Mr Brulhart was previously Area General Manager of Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya and as well as the new Centara Grand Modus Resort & Spa Pattaya.
His new appointment places him in charge of the hotel at which he began his career with Centara Hotels & Resorts in 2005, when he joined as Resident Manager at the former Sofitel Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok. He was then promoted and transferred to be General Manager at Centara Karon Resort Phuket early 2008 before being transferred to Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya at the beginning of 2010.
Mr Brulhart is a Swiss national and a graduate of the Lausanne Hotel Management School in Switzerland. He has over 25 years' hotel experience in Switzerland, Hawaii and mainly in Asia. Beginning his career at the Hong Kong Hilton in 1987, Mr Brulhart has also held positions at the Kahala Hilton in Honolulu, The Oberoi Bali, The Regent Bangkok, Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, and The Plaza Athenee Bangkok.
The recently renovated five-star Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok was the first hotel to be opened by Centara, 30 years ago, and is located near the elevated highway system, the underground Mass Rapid Transit and the BTS Skytrain, thereby ensuring that any district within the city is very easily accessible.
A covered walkway provides a direct link to the adjacent Central Plaza shopping complex – one of the biggest of its kind in Bangkok with 300 shops, boutiques, restaurants and multiplex cinema. Delegates to events staged at the Bangkok Convention Centre Hall (BCC Hall) can walk to and from the hotel through the same air-conditioned thoroughfare.
