THE GHOST SERIES II HAS ARRIVED BANGKOK

Nothing expresses style and luxury like a Rolls Royce and their newest vehicle is the ultimate communication of that. The company recently took the covers off the Ghost Series II in Bangkok showing off its updated lines and other innovations. 

The Rolls-Royce Ghost, aimed at entrepreneurs and businesspeople, has been pivotal to the company’s success story that has played out ever since the German auto-maker BMW bought the illustrious brand in 1998. The Ghost first debuted in 2009 based on the steel frame and mechanicals of the BMW 7-Series and now five years later it has undergone a subtle refresh making it an even more grace, yet dynamic piece of machinery. 

Blink and you might miss the changes on the outside, which incorporate headlamps encircled by LED fairylights, new indicators, and a larger front air intake. The all-important Spirit of Ecstasy sits on the top of the grille, now tilted slightly forward, with a tapered wake channel running behind it all the way through the bonnet towards the windshield like the vapour trail of a jet. Within the plush interior is a new navigation system, updated audio with a new user interface as well. The seats too have been reworked for more comfort and get heating options as well.

Under the hood, the Ghost Series II runs with same 563PS/780Nm 6.6-litre twin turbo V12 motor, paired to a satellite guided eight-speed transmission that pre-selects the gear based on the road conditions ahead. It does the 0-100 kmph dash in just 4.7 seconds, redlining at the electronically limited 250 kmph, all the while giving the same smooth ride on reworked suspension.

At the launch event in Bangkok, Michael A Schneider, General Manager Sales, Asia-Pacific, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, said, “Customers in Thailand will find that Ghost Series II has the same level of exclusivity, quality and perfection that is quintessentially Rolls-Royce. They will be delighted to know that with the introduction of new exclusive finishes, wheels and interior veneer options, there’s greater scope for bespoke personalisation to express their individuality.”  

“The Ghost is the most popular Rolls-Royce for our customers in Thailand,” said Chatvithai Tantraporn, Deputy Managing Director for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Bangkok, adding the update would ensure that it will continue to be for many years to come.
